Police statement regarding yesterday’s CASO in Kulgam | KNO

Srinagar, December 09 (KNO) : In reference to a news report published by an English news paper regarding disruption of anti militancy operation in a Churat Devsar area of Kulgam. The news published is not based on facts. It is to inform that at about 1700 hours Police Kulgam alongwith 9 RR and 18th Bn CRPF cordoned off the said village. At initial stage of laying of cordon some miscreants pelted stones on a moving RR vehicle. After cordon was laid no stone pelting happened in the area and search operation continued for eight hours and the cordon was withdrawn at mid night. People of the area were very cooperative during search operation, no breach in law and order occurred. This shows that the said media person has not ascertained the facts and have published a fake news. It is pertinent to mention here that 19 RR is not deployed in district Kulgam. Neither they have participated in this cordon and search operation as reported by the said correspondent. Journalists are requested to confirm any incident from the concerned police authorities before publishing or updating on social media.(KNO)
